Effects of sufentanil and fentanyl on hemodynamic and stress response to anesthesia induction in children

Abstract

Objective To observe the effects of sufentanil on hemodynamic and stress to induction of general anesthesia in children.Methods Sixty ASA Ⅰor Ⅱ children undergoing selective tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy were randomly divided into two groups.Anesthesia was induced with sufentanil 0.3 μg/kg in group S and with fentanyl 3 μg/kg in group F.SBP,DBP,HR and the values of norepinephrine(NE),cortisol(Cor),blood glucose(Glu) were detected at four time points: 5 minutes before anesthesia(T0),the time of tracheal intubation(T1),1 min after intubation(T2) and 5 min after intubation(T3).Results Hemodynamics of group S were more stable than group F;The values of SBP,DBP,HR were higher at any time point after intubation in group F than in group S(P0.05);The concentrations of NE,Cor and Glu have a significant increasing after endotracheal intubation in group F than in group S(P0.05);There were no significant change in NE,Cor and Glu concentrations at different time points in group S.Conclusion Sufentanil has more inhibitory effect on stress response and provides more stable hemodynamic than fentanyl to induction of general anesthesia in children.
