Abstract
Springback has an unfavorable effect on the precision of sheet forming; what is more,there is severe springback in high strength sheet metal forming so that a lot of techniques are implemented to reduce springback of high strength sheet metal. Variable blank holder forces (VBHF) technique is one of these adopted to control springback. In this paper,the effects of variable blank holder forces on springback of rectangular box with different depth deep drawing were investigated based on the numerical simulation of sheet metal forming. Also,the effects of constant blank holder forces (CBHF) on springback of the part were given in contrast. At last,the results of simulation and experiment in sheet metal forming proved that the variable blank-holder forces can reduce springback of high strength sheet metal effectively.
