Meaning and function of Chinese traditional Painting

The style and the expression of both emotions and thoughts of the Chinese painting are certainly important aspects in the development of Chinese painting. There is, however, another important aspect being neglected: the meaning and function of Chinese landscape painting. In the aim of understanding this, categorizing of the landscape painting by the theme should be conducted and studied in relation with the painters and users. And there should be taken into consideration the questions like their living conditions, the occasions these works are displayed and how the artists cope with such situations and circumstance. In this way we enter a new state of the development and the study of Chinese painting.
