Abstract

Objective To evaluate the significance of hemoglobin scavenger receptor( CD163 ) on the surface of monocytes in peripheral blood and serum soluble CD40 ligand(sCD40L) in patients with coronary heart disease(CHD),and relationship between the CD163 and sCD40L and inflammation response. Methods According to WHO diagnostic criterion of CHD and the results of CAG,84 cases of CHD and 20 cases of non-CHD(NCHD) were included in this study.84 cases of CHD were divided into three groups:30 cases in acute myocardial infarction(AMI) group,30 cases in unstable angina(UA) group,24 cases in stable angina(SA) group, the expression levels of CD163 on monocytes in peripheral blood in four groups were detected by the flow cytometry and the results were expressed with mean fluorescence intensity(mfi). The sera levels of sCD40L in four groups were detected by the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA)(ng/ml).ESR and CRP were detected at the same time. Results The levels of CD163 and sCD40L in four groups were significantly different(P0.01).The level of CD163 in AMI(85.38±6.89 mfi) was higher than those of the UA (65.18±5.52) mfi(P0.001),the SA (45.26±4.73)mfi(P0.001) and the NCHD (20.95±3.42)mfi(P0.001).The level of CD163 in the UA was higher than those of the SA and the NCHD(P0.001).The level of CD163 in the SA was higher than that of the NCHD(P0.001).The level of sCD40L in AMI (8.48±4.13)ng/ml and UA(8.72±4.26)ng/ml was higher than those of the SA (4.36±2.68)ng/ml(P0.01) and the NCHD (4.12±1.96)ng/ml(P0.01).The expression levels of CD163 was significantly and positively correlated with sCD40L,ESR and CRP(r=0.837,P0.001、r=0.722,P=0.001 and r=0.734,P=0.001).Conclusion The levels of CD163 and sCD40L in the patients with various types of CHD are significantly different. The more serious CHD is,the higher levels CD163 and sCD40L are,the levels of CD163 and sCD40L are novel independent predictors of coronary atherosclerotic severity. The levels of CD163 are positively correlated with sCD40L,ESR and CRP.
