Abstract
By treating the gray cast iron melt with ultrasonic, the effects of ultrasonic on the solidification structure and mechanical properties of gray cast iron was discussed and the reasons causing those effects were analyzed. The results showed that a short time ultrasonic treatment could change the graphite morphology of the gray cast iron from flake shape into the mixed morphology containing obtuse,spherical-like shape and crimpy, fine thread shapes and as a result, the eutectic cell size of gray cast iron could be effectively reduced and its mechanical properties could be improved.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
