Abstract

The understanding and reading of Wuthering Heights have gone throng different periods since its publication.By now,the criticisms of this book in China focus on the theme,writing skill,construction of text,symbolism and psychological analysis.Few people cast their eyes on archetypal reading of this book.This essay will discuss the archetypes of theme,characters and images in Wuthering Heights so as to get a better understanding of the relationship between love and hatred,life and death,civilization and nature,heaven and hell.
