Abstract
Objective:To find a simple and accurate method for locating functional areas of cerebral cortex on CT images. Methods:CT images of 50 cases of healthy old man were sampled randomly and the functional areas of cerebral cortex were identified by superficial sulci and gyri of brain. Results:Superficial sulci and gyri of brain were showed clearly and identified easily on CT images of the aged.Central sulcus, lateral sulcus, superior frontal aulcus, parieto-occipital sulcus calarine sulcus, circularis sulcus, ventricle and cistern were major anatomical landmarks for locating funtional areas of cerebral cortex.Eight typical CT axial images were employed to show the results. Conclusion:Superfical sulcus and gyrus of brain are marks for locating funtional areas of cerebral cortex on CT images of the aged.
