Experiment Study on Sediment Control and Sediment Discharge of Hydropower Station on Sediment-Laden River in Northwest China

Abstract

Taking Xiacheng Hydropower Station in Taohe River as an example,we had done sediment control and sediment eject effect of physical model experimental study of sediment-laden river in Northwest China.The results show that,a)in power station entrance,setting up reasonable sediment detention weir and sediment guiding dike can play a role in promoting sediment discharge,without a large sediment deposition before sediment detention weir;b)under power station water intake,setting up reasonable sediment eject way,and choosing a good chance to eject sediment in entrance of sediment way,which can form the clear front,have a good effect on sediment eject.Meanwhile,it suggests that we periodically open sediment eject way to discharge sediment,and ensure sediment eject way clear.
