Abstract

On the basis of the investigation of the water bearing layers, moisture content, and porosity determination in loess profile at Yangwan village of Chang′an county, the change of moisture and the distribution of the water bearing layers are studied. The results show that the change of moisture content of the loess stratum represents the change type different from that reached before. the high peak is discovered in the loess layers and the lower value in the red paleosol. From the upper to the lower, the moisture content and the porosity have the fluctuation change law; since about six hundred thousand, the four water bearing layers consisting of loess layers in loess strata have been formed, and the water resistant layers are clay grouting layers that have few crack in the upper red paleosol.
