Abstract
Objective To observe the effects of Bushen Huoxue Granule( BSHXG) on the expressions of B-cell lymphoma-2( bcl-2) and bax in substantia nigra and striatum in rats model with Parkinson's disease( PD). Methods Thirty-three male SD rats were randomly divided into 6-OHDA-induced PD model group,BSHXG treatment group and normal control group. Changes in the expressions of bcl-2 and bax in substantia nigra and striatum in rats were observed by means of immunohistochemical staining. Results bcl-2's proliferation indexes of positive expression rates of the cells in the substantia nigra of the PD model group and the striatum of the PD model group were respectively 0. 43 ± 0. 022,1. 14 ± 0. 057,both lower than the normal group( both P 0. 01) and treatment group( both P 0. 01) while bax's PI in the substantia nigra of the PD model group and the striatum of the PD model group were respectively 2. 07± 0. 104、2. 86 ± 0. 143,both higher than the normal group( both P 0. 01) and treatment group( both P 0. 01). Conclusion The therapeutic effect of BSHXG on PD may be associated with up regulating the expression of bcl-2 protein and down regulating the expression of bax protein in substantia nigra and striatum in rats with Parkinson's disease.
