Early Treatment of Traumatic Brain Injury Patients with Hyperbaric Oxygen:Analysis of 40 Cases

Abstract

Objective To study the effectiveness of hyperbaric oxygen(HBO) treatment on traumatic brain injury patients.Methods There were cases of traumatic brain injury patients were divided into early HBO treatment group and conventional HBO treatment group.Both groups were given HBO treatment 3 courses.Results Early HBO treatment group result is more satisfying than that of conventional group with an obvious difference on GCS GOS grading.Life quality of early HBO treatment group surpasses conventional group with a lower proportion of severe disability,vegetable chance and death;a higher one of normal and slight disability.Conclusion Earlier HBO treatment on traumatic brain injury patients can enhance the oxygen tension and content in blood to block the cycle of brain hypoxia,and to increase the clinical cure rate.
