Abstract

Sedimentary basins are the major places for sedimentation and the significant space where sediments accumulate.One fundamental basis for sedimentary basin classification is the tectonic features of the basin.Commercial oil and gas discoveries are all made in sedimentary basins,and different basins possess different hydrocarbon prospectivity.The analysis and classification of sedimentary basin are related to many branches of earth sciences,they have a direct impact on evaluation of hydrocarbon resources potential of sedimentary basins and receive an increasing recognition.
