Abstract

A new flotation-sedimentation process is discussed for treating the water of phoenix mountain reservoir with high algae concentration. We combine the flotation and sedimentation processes and switch running them in one structure organically.A 20m3/h testing model system is built, running flotation and sedimentation depending on the turbidity of raw water respectively. We run flotation process when the turbidity is low:where the quantity of PAC is 20mg/L;the quantity of KMnO4 is 1.0 mg/L;reflux ratio is 8%.At this condition, the algae removal ratio is around 95% and the turbidity of effluent is about 0.5 NTU.When the turbidity of raw water is high, sedimentation process is running with parameter that the quantity of PAC is 15 mg/L.Then the algae removal ratio is around 85% and the turbidity of effuent is less than 3 NTU.New flotation-sedimentation process treated the water of phoenix mountain reservoir with high algae concentration, which can achieve good effects.
