Abstract
Objective:To evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of laparoscopic totally extraperitoneal hernia repair.Methods:The retrospective analysis was made on the clinical data of 56 patients who suffered from various types of abdominal hernia and treated with laparoscopic totally extraperitoneal hernia repair from Feb.2007 to Dec.2009.Results:All cases were performed the operation successfully.The mean operative time was(122.5±5.6)min(range 65-180) for unilateral hernioplasty.The average postoperative stay was(3.5±1.4) days.Conclusions:Laparoscopic totally extraperitoneal hernia repair is a safe and effective method for hernia repair with lower recurrence rate and less complications,and is suitable for most abdominal hernia.
