Abstract

The effects of initial concentration of leaching agent, stirring speed, ore particle size and leaching temperature on nickel leaching rate during the process of extracting nickel from serpentine with sulfuric acid were studied, and the leaching kinetics was analyzed. The results showed that the nickel leaching rate was obviously affected by initial concentration of leaching agent, leaching temperature and ore particle size, however, the stirring speed has slight effect on it.The nickel extraction with sulfuric acid was well described by the relation of 1-(1-η)1/3=kt,the reaction frequency factor was 190.56,the apparent activation energy was 48.79 kJ/mol,and the leaching process was controlled by chemical reaction.
