Abstract

We isolated and purified two peanut rhizobia with distinct growth rates,1K(fast-growing rhizobium) and 2M(slow-growing rhizobium).16S rDNA sequence analysis and their physiological and biochemical experiments indicate that strain 1K is a Sinorhizobium sp.,and that 2M is a Bradyrhizobium sp..We discover that the growth rate and resistance of strain 2M are significantly inferior to strain 1K,but that the nodulation capability of strain 2M is superior to strain 1K after comparisons of their physiological characteristics, resistance and nodulation capability.
