Abstract

Objective To assess the prevalence of subclincal, latent infection and genotype distribution of human papillomavirus(HPV) among male out-patients in high risk population, and to provide a basis prevention strategies for HPV infection. Methods Twenty-one subtypes of HPV from 1 206 cases were detected, using flow-through hybridization and gene chip technology. Results In 342 HPV-positive cases, the infection rate was 28.36% ;The rates of low risk and high risk HPV types in HPV positive cases were 50.88%(174/342) and 49.12%(168/342),respectively.The most notable low risk HPV types were HPV11,HPV6 and HPV42,and the most notable high risk HPV types were HPV16,HPV52,HPV58 and HPV33.The rates of HPV single infection, dual infection and multiple infection in HPV postive cases was 67.54%(231/342),21.05%(72/342) and 11.40%(39/342),respectively.Conclusion In this region, the rate of subclincal and latent infection of HPV in out-patient high-risk male population was high, and the most common genotype of HPV types were HPV11,HPV6,HPV16,HPV52,HPV58 and HPV33.Most of patients were single infection.
