Abstract
Objective To observe the protective function and its mechanism of Phenolic alkaloids from Menispermum dauricum (PAMd) on anti-anoxia ability and anti-ischemia/reperfusion cerebral injury. Methods Two kinds of complete cerebral ischemia model were established by decapitation and anoxia under normal air pressure to observe effect of the PAMd on the survival time of the model mice.Incomplete cerebral ischemia model was estblished by ligation of bilateral common carotid artery and bloodletting method of postocular venous plexus to observe the activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD), content of malondialdehyde (MDA) and nitric oxide (NO) in brain tissue after ischemia/reperfusion.Results PAMd could prolong the respiratory action time after decapitation and survival time under normal air pressure, also could improve the SOD activity in brain tissue after ischemia/reperfusion,lower MDA and NO content. Conclusion PAMd could im- prove the anti-anoxia ability of mice, inhibit the lipid peroxidation in brain tissue after ischemia/reperfusion,and had cer- tain protective function in cerebral ischemia.
