Abstract
By investigating the relationship betweenheat in blood, blood stasisand psoriasis, this article shows that the main pathological transformation axis of psoriasis is blood stasis, and stagnation of blood stasis and heat runs through the whole course of the disease. By analysising taohechengqitang which is the representative Chinese herbal compound to treat stagnation of blood and heat recorded in the book of Treatise on Exogenous Febrile Diseases, we see that using the methods of heat-cleaning and detoxicating and activating blood circulation to dissipate blood stasis are both very important in treating psoriasis as the main therapeutic methods. Additionally, adding a little pungent warm Chinese herbals not only useful to eliminate stasis , active blood circulation, but also prevent the over bitter and cold herbals from doing harm to the body.
