Abstract
This paper investigated the effect of packing structure on mass transfer of a cross-flow Rotating Packed Bed.For a carbon dioxide and sodium hydroxide system(CO2-NaOH),the characteristics of mass-transfer in different packing structure for a Rotating Packed Bed have been studied. Results showed that the volume mass-transfer coefficient,KLa,increased with the increase in the high gravity ratio, gas flow rate, and liquid flow rate. The volume mass-transfer coefficient of packing I is about 60%,40%,30 % higher than that of packingⅡ,Ⅲ,Ⅳ.The characteristics of mass-transfer of packingⅠis better than other packings.Furthermore, the model of mass transfer coefficients was proposed. The calculated results for mass transfer coefficients agree well with those of experiment.
