Abstract

Objective To evaluate Doppler echocardiography in diagnosis and prognosis fo hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Methods From 1998 to 2002,28 cases of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy were studied by comparison of Doppler echocardiography, CT, MR1 and clinical findings. Results Compared with CT or MRI, the accuracy in diagnosis of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy by Doppler echocardiography was 89.3 % ; particularly, that of asymmetrical hypertrophy of ventricular septum and posterior wall of left ventricle 100 % , obstructive hypertrophuic cardiomypathy 100% , and regional hypertrophic cardiomyopathy 57.1 % . Conclusion Doppler echocardiography is an effective method in diagnosis of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
