Clinical study on 172 cases fungal rhinosinusitis with nasal endoscopic surgery

Objective To analyse the Clinical features of fungal rhinosinusitis and valuate the effectiveness of nasal endoscopic surgery for fungal rhinosinusitis.Methods A retrospective study was carried out among 172 cases with fungal rhinosinusitis treated by endoscopic sinus surgery in our hospital.Results All cases were followed one to six years after nasal endoscopic surgery.15 of them were lost to follow up.5 of them had recurrence one year later,and had second surgeries.The rest of them were cured and none of them have serious complication.Conclusions Fungal rhinosinusitis with sputum streaked with blood had to differential diagnosis for nasopharyngeal carcinoma and tumor of paranasal sinus.Preoperative paranasal sinus CT scanning holds very significant diagnostic and endoscopic sinus surgery is very effective for surgical treatmeat of this kind of lesion.
