Abstract
Objective To study the expression of KAI-1 in hepatocellular carcinoma and the relationship between the expression and clinical pathological characterization. Methods 48 fresh resected specimens from the patients with HCC and 10 normal liver tissue were selected,fixed with 10% formalin,paraffin embed in routine,each sample was proceeded with serial section,about 4 μm thick,tissue section of HCC were stained by SABC immunohistochemistry,with KAL-1 in HCC and the relationship between the expression and clinical pathological characterization were studied with χ2 check,t check and Fisher precise probability. Results Positive rates of KAI-1 in the tissue was 58.33%, obviously lower than paracarcinoma tissue and normal liver tissue(P0.05);the scores of KAI1 in HCC with metastatic and without metastatic cancer were 1.76±1.51 and 2.90±1.82 respectively,the scores of KAI-1 were significantly lower in HCC with metastatic than those without metastatic cancer(P0.05),there were no significantly different expressions in other pathological characterization. Conclusion The expression of KAI-1 in the tissue HCC was decreased obviously,and it was lower in HCC with metastasis than those without metastasis cancer,which showed that KAI-1 possibly restrained the metastasis of HCC.
