On the Contribution of HOU Wai-lu to the Research of the History of Qing Dynasty

HOU Wai-lu makes use of Materialistic view of history to tidy up the culture inheritance in the history of Qing dynasty.He studies the scholarship history of Qing dynasty in order to seek the road of Chinese revolution and write the rules of the development of Chinese history,which shows his deep concern towards the reality.His academic study is based on social history and social economy.Starting from the social charges at the end of Ming dynasty,he tries to explore the formation and development of the early enlightenment in China.His research methods set us good examples for academic study.
