Abstract
The author categorizes Geographical Information System's(GIS) core technology as map layers,vector maps,and spatial-attribute data recognizing and gives a further comment on ActiveX technology based GIS.Using object oriented method,a model consist of pollution source,functional district of water environment protection,air and noise is built for environment GIS.Embracing this GIS platform,an environment GIS software is developed upon view and view configuration model.This application proves that this GIS platform is able to considerably shorten GIS software development cycle and improve its extendibility.
