Abstract
It reviewed systematically the crystal structure,dispersibility,rheological properties and surface finish of montmorillonite.The layers of montmorillonite contain Lewis acid sites and transition metal ions,which could be used for catalytic polymerization of vinyl monomer.People have paid close attention to the research and application of montmorillonite to polymer nanocomposites since Toyota Motor Corporation used nylon-6/clay nanocomposites.It also reviewed the technique of preparation and its development of montmorillonite/polymer nanocomposites.
