Abstract

Well Xuwen-X3 is a key exploration well of SINOPEC,and it is a three intervals four targets high inclinationdirectional well with the total depth 6,010 m and highest temperature 211 ℃.Severe mud loss is encountered when drillingin Weizhou formation with many micro-fractures.Through laboratory experiments,the polysulfonate water base drillingfluid system,can be used as high as 200 ℃,is developed to overcome some downhole problems such as borehole cleaning,lubricating and wellbore stability,and no pipe sticking happened even the drilling tool stayed in hole for over 70 hours.
