Abstract
Rice blast, caused by the fungus Magnaporthe grisea,is one of the most widespread and destructive rice diseases. The use of resistant cultivars is considered the most economical and effective method to control rice diseases. In this review,we summarize the interaction mechanism between rice blast pathogen and rice, exploiture and application of DNA molecular markers mapping, cloning of rice blast resistance genes in rice blast study. This paper also presents the blue print for the research progress of it in modern agriculture filed.
