Status and Research Fronts in Modification of Jute Fibers

Abstract

The bibliometrics analysis of the literature which was indexed by the databases of SCI-E(Science Citation Index Expanded) ,SSCI(Social Science Citation Index) and CPCI-S(Conference Proceedings Citation Index-Science) was conducted with a span of years from 1995 to 2009 for the fields in modification of jute fibers using the software of TDA(Thomson Data Analyzer) and analyze results of Web of Science.In the view of several factors such as international production,subject area,source title and country/territory,the history,status,detailed technique and research fronts of fields in modification of jute fibers were investigated for the purpose of promoting the international influence and reputation of this area.It was found that modification method,microstructure and mechanical properties change are the main research hotspots of recent year in this subject.There was little research on the bio-modification in jute reinforced composite material.
