Abstract
In this paper the mechanism and research method of terrestrial ecosystem carbon cycle and a perspective of emphases and hotspots on the research of terrestrial ecosystem carbon cycle were reviewed.It was concluded that it was prospective to apply the science of complexity in terrestrial ecosystem carbon cycle.Terrestrial ecosystem was an adaptive complex system.The inner interaction of ecosystem was the main driving force for the self-organization,complexity and order in the ecosystem.In this paper the mechanism and development of ecosystem complexity was discussed with the principle and methods of complexity science,which was a new approach for understanding ecological and evolutionary problem.
