Abstract

This paper not only makes a textual analysis of the population size registered by Guangxi local government in the Ming Dynasty, but also calculates the population in the army and the population of ethnic minorities, and then comes to the conclusion that the population size in the present region of Guangxi had reached over 4 million by the late Ming Dynasty.
