Abstract

In this paper, the atomic clock’s noise model and the Allan variance for representing the atomic clock’s stability are introduced. Then two methods(slope method and t comparison method of two Allan variances)of determining the atomic clock’s noise type are discussed, and using these two methods, several on-board clocks of GPS satellites are analyzed. The results show that the different clock types of GPS satellites have different noise types and the same type clocks of GPS satellites have different noise types.
