Abstract

Objective To study the pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynemics of amoxicillin/clavulanic acid . Methods Nine healthy volunteers were selected to receive a single oral administration of 625 mg of amoxicillin/clavulanic acid potassium in the pharmacokinetic study. The drug concentration of amoxicillin in plasma and in urine were determined by bioassay method. Results The concentration-time curves of amoxicillin fitted into a 2-compartment model. The pharmacokinetic parameters was calculated as the follows:C_ max was (7.69±0.74) mg·L -1 ,t_ max was (1.39±0.53) h,t_ 1/2β (1.30±0.57) h,AUC_ 0-∞ was (19.95± 1.76 ) mg·L·h -1 ,CL was (27.83±3.97) L·h -1 .Conclusion The regimen of 625 mg, twice-daily of amoxicillin/clavulanic acid is as effective as the same dosage three time-daily regimen against the causative pathogens of community-acquired respiratory tract infections.
