Study on dimensional accuracy of duplicate dentures prepared by dental alginate impression materials and denture duplicator flask

Objective To study the dimensions accuracy of duplicate dentures prepared by dental alginate impression materials and denture duplicator flask.Methods 30 heat cured acrylic complete upper dentures with porcelain teeth were chosen as the control group,measuring points established.30 duplicate dentures were made by dental alginate impression materials and denture duplicator flask as the experimental group.Measurements were compiled to analyze the difference between two groups.Results The dimensional inaccuracy in replica teeth had no statistical significance in two groups,and was greater in the vertical plane than in the horizontal plane.Measurements on base plate of the master and duplicate dentures had statistical significance in the horizontal plane.Conclusion Duplicate dentures prepared by dental alginate impression materials and denture duplicator flask can be applied directly to patients is need to be further confirmed by clinical trials.
