Self-identity theory came from Erik·H·Erikson's psychosocial developmental theory.Erikson was an American psychologist.Erikson accepted Freud's ideological ideas and fixed Freud's personality development theory.He said we should value the social and cultural factors to personality development.His self-identity theory included the social and cultural factors.For he made future identity as the solution of self-identity theory,his theory was Utopian.
