Abstract
Butyl acrylate(BA) was grafted polymerized onto starch by using ceric ammonium nitrate as initiator in aqueous medium. The effects of monomer and initiator concentration, the atmosphere on graft ratio and graft efficiency have been studied. Results showed that the graft ratio and graft efficiency increase with the increase of monomer and initiator concentration;the graft ratio and graft efficiency of the nitrogen atmosphere are higher. The product has been discriminated by infrared(IR)spectroscopy and the crystal structures of natural starch and grafting products have been studied by a polarizing microscope, the crystal structures of starch have been greatly destroyed after the grafting reaction.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
A contribution statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
