Abstract
Objective: To summarize the clinical experience of microsurgical operation of acoustic neuromas and increase the complete resection rate of of acoustic neuromas and the preservation rate of facial nerve functionand and auditory nerve function,prevent the complications.Method: All the 35 cases with acoustic neuromas underwent operation through suboccipital approach.The relationship of the tumor size and the rate of complete resection of the acoustic neuromas,preservation rate of facial nerve function and and auditory nerve function and operative points were discussed.Result: 6 cases with acoustic neuromas sized less than 2cm were resected completely.14 of the 18 cases with acoustic neuromas sized 2~4cm were resected completely.Only 5 of the l l cases with acoustic neuromas sized larger than 4cm were resected completely.The complete resective rate of acoustic neuromas were 71.4%.The anatomy preservation rate of facial nerve function is 65.7%and the functional preservation rate of facial nerve is 57.1%.None of cases died.Conclusion: The rate of complete resection of the acoustic neuromas and the preservation of the facial nerve function,auditory nerve function depends on the size of the acoustic neuromas.Mastering the microsurgical skill can help to increase the preservation rate of facial nerve function.
