Wang Shimin’s landscape paintings led the mainstream interest of the early Qing Dynasty landscape painting art. Wang Shimin’s numerous classical paintings are characteristic of images with diversified meanings,unique brushwork,patterns with Confucian implication,and pure elegant aesthetic ideas. His paintings manifest his own painting philosophy and spirit inherited from previous painting masters,which had great impact on the development,major painting concepts and the mainstream values and spirit of the early Qing Dynasty paintings and laid the foundation for orthodox school of painting.
