Abstract

Major cereal crop includes rice, wheat ,barley, oat, maize, sorghum, foxtail millet and broom corn millet in China. Wild relatives of the cereal crop have been used successfully in cereal crop breeding program in China .As a result, it has not only broadened the genetic base of crop, but also developed a lot of commercial varieties and advanced lines and increased crop potential yield and food safety.
