Phacoemusification combined with foldable intraocular lens implantation for cataract

Objective To probe into the therapeutic effects of phacoemulsification combined with foldable intraocular lens(IOL) implantation for cataract. Method On 36 eyes with cataract of 35 cases phacoemulsification combined with foldable IOL implantation was performed.The results of postoperative vision,refraction,corneal edema,anaterior chamber flare and the rate of corneal endothelial cell loss were retrospectively summarized.Results The uncorrected visual acuities at postoperative 1day,1week,1month,3months,≥0.5 were 25 eyes(79.4%),29 eyes(80.6%),32 eyes(88.9%),33eyes(91.7%),respectively.The mean dioters of astigmatism at postoperative 3 day,1 week,1month and 3 months compared with that before the surgery had no significant difference(P0.05).The postoperative corneal edema and anterior chamber flare were mild,and the rate of endothelial call loss was 11.7%. Conclusion The surgical procedure has smaller incision and easy to perform.Postoperatively the reaction is mild,the change of astigmatism is small in degree,the best visual acuity can be obtained at the early stage and the refractive status is stable,thus the duration for restoration is greatly shortened.
