Abstract

Objective :To investigate the biological characteristics of human gastric cancer transfected with Caspase-1 gene. Methods : Recombinant retroviral vector with human Caspase-1 cDNA was transferred into human gastric cell line X-108.The proliferation tumorigenicity, cycle of the delivered cell line and the CEA concertration in the super-nate of cell culture were analyzed, respectively. Results: Apoptosis was not induced, but the cell number of G1 stage increased, the S stage decreased, the CEA concentration in supernate also decreased, the proliferation and the tumorigenicity cf the gastric cell line transfected with Caspase-1 gene were considerably inhibited. Conclusion : Though apoptosis of the gastric cancer cell line X-108 transfected with Caspase-1 gene was not induced, the proliferation was inhibited.
