Diversity of butterfly species in different habitats in South suburb of Jiamusi

The community structure and diversity of butterfly species in four habitats in south suburb of Jiamusi were surveyed during from April 2003 to August 2004. The total collections contain (1 225) specimens. Seventy_one species in 49 genera, 7 families were identified. Most species belong in Nymphalidae and very few species belong in Parmassiidae. The butterflies have obvious territories and stable preponderant species distributions. The species diversity index is higher in Sifeng Mountain than the other areas. This article indicates that the diversity of vegetation resource has relationship with the diversity of butterfly.
