Abstract
Quaternary cationic surfactant is a widely used chemical product. This article studied the synthesis of cationic triglyceride 2-hydroxy-N,N,N-trimethyl-3-stearin-propyl ammonium chloride(CMESA) by using quaternary ammonium etherification agent glycidyl trimethyl ammonium chloride(GTMAC) to modify stearic acid. The best synthesis conditions of CMESA were as follows: ultrasound frequency was 40 kHz,n(GTMAC)∶n(stearic acid) = 1.5∶1.0,reaction time was 2.5 h,pH= 6,reaction temperature was 40 ℃,yield of CMESA was 93.47%,and the product structure was characterized by elemental analysis and IR.
