Abstract
Objective To explore the curative effect and security of ziprasidone for treating schizophrenia. Methods Sixty patients were chosen randomly and took ziprasidone in a dosage of 80-120mg per day for 6 weeks. The curative effect was estimated by PANSS and Clinical Global Impression Scale(CGI-SI),and the security was evaluated with TESS,physical and laboratory examination,ECG and describing records about other side effects. Results The scores of PANSS,positive symptoms, negative symptoms, general psychopathological symptoms and CGI-S decreased obviously. At the end of the trial,23 patients(38.33%)recovered,25(41.67%)improved notably,7(11.67%)improved.The excellence rate was 80.00%,and total effective rate was 91.67%.The rate of side effects was 46.67%.No severe side reactions occurred. Conclusion Ziprasidone could have good therapeutic effect and tolerance for treating patients with schizophrenia.
