Abstract
The anaerobic ammonium oxidation microbiology can convert ammonium to dinitrogen gas with nitrite or nitrogen dioxide as electron acceptor. As a new method of water treatment, anaerobic ammonium oxidation may be of good applied prospect. The principle, the possible path, the method and the applied status of anaerobic ammonium oxidation were introduced, including the mechanism of microbiology, the development of technology and the direction for future research.
