Abstract
The development and change of principal nutrient components of fruit in Viburnum cmacrocepholum was studied. Following results were obtained: The growth patterns of fresh and dry weight of V.cmacrocepholum fruit showed double S curves, and two growth peaks appeared in mid August and late September, respectively. The content of amylum, soluble sugar, V_C in ripe fruit was 3.86, 27.61, and 1.08 mg·g~(-1), respectively. With fruit development, the content of amylum decreased while that of sugar and V_C increased. Chlorophyll content in young fruit reached 0.197 mg·g~(-1) and declined to 0.077 mg·g~(-1) in fully ripe fruit, which was only 40% of that in young fruit.
