Abstract
The dynamic responses of simply supported beams under the action of moving loads are studied based on the kinematics equations and by taking the mass and speed of the moving object and the high order natural frequencies of the beam into consideration. The equations are solved with Newmard method. Dynamic load factors are determined as the speed of moving loads increase from 40 km/h to 200 km/h. The results show that the maximum deflection is always near the center of the span, and the deflection curves actuated by moving loads are a kind of sinusoidal ones that swing in a certain frequency around a deflection curve caused by a static load.
