Abstract

The criterion to assess whether metals present in soils are at toxic levels is not standardised world-wide and varies from one country and land use to another.A review with 48 references is given on the current methods for bioavailability evaluation of heavy metals in soil, including its application regions and disadvantages. The concerned problems and future development orientation are also pointed out.
