Analysis on AIDS related behavior and serology among drug addicts

Objective:To analyze the two factors and their relationship in Chuanshan District,Suining city to provide the scientific data for developing a proper prevention and control strategy for AIDS.Methods:The drug addicts' behavior was investigated and their serology was analyzed.Results:The positive rate of HIV antibody was 0.5%among the drug addicts who had ever injected drugs,or shared needles with others,or used condoms seldom.However,those drug addicts who had accepted the services,such as education of injector exchange,curation by methadone and consulation of venereal diseases and AIDS,had lower positive rate of HIV antibody.Conclusion: The drug addicts had run the high risk of HIV infection and transmission rapidly in this district.Furthermore,health education and behaviors intervention should be strengthened among the drug addicts.
