Abstract

Objective: To study the relationship between congenital vertebral artery hypoplasia and clinical symptom. Methods: To analysis the clinical characteristics and features of DSA for 60 patients with vertebral artery hypoplasia which were diagonosed by DSA. Results: The position of vertebral artery hypoplasia was 42 cases on right and 19 cases on left in 60 patients. One patient was bilateral. The mean diameter of vertebral artery hypoplasia was(2.02±0.15) mm,it was much smaller than that of the normal vertebral artery(4.32±0.31) mm significantly(P0.01).Clinical symptoms were simple vertigo in 25 cases and TIA of vertebral artery system in 35 cases. Conclusion: Vertebral artery hypoplasia is the risk factor of ischemic stroke.
